DARBHANGA: The State Bank of India (SBI) has organised a 10-day training camp under the "Entrepreneurship development programme for minority community" here at Darbhanga Club here.
Inaugurating the camp on Monday, K Sitaraman, general manager, Patna circle of the SBI, said that the bank was committed to the development of people belonging to minority community.
Fiftysix youths of the minority community are taking part in the camp in which they would be imparted training in their choice trade.On successful completion of training, they would be financed by the bank for carrying out business, said the general manager. C K Roy, AGM, SBI, will impart training to the youths.
Speaking as chief guest on the occasion, Darbhanga divisional commissioner Amita Paul lamented that banks had generally been found to finance those people whose family had a bakground in business, while the people whose family had no experience were being denied loan. She urged the banks to give loans to the unemployed youths of this area in greater numbers.
Darbhanga DM R B P Yadav said that trained youths would be provided land at the industrial area of the town for launching their business. Samastipur DM requested the GM of SBI to organise such a camp in his district too.
S S Sharma, DGM, Muzaffarpur zonal office of the SBI, welcomed the guests and promised that such programmes would be held in all the districts of north Bihar. Jeevan Sahay, AGM, proposed a vote of thanks.
